Chatbot-Based Application Development and Implementation as an Autonomous Language Learning Medium

Autonomous learning has an important role in online because teachers cannot directly supervise the student process, which makes students themselves responsible for their learning. As attempt to provide with alternative autonomous medium, this study aimed use a chatbot-based Japanese grammar application namely Gengobot as medium. This applied Analysis, Design, Development, Implementation, and Evaluation (ADDIE) instructional design model. The data of research was collected using pre-experimental method distributed Likert scale questionnaire 50 language learners levels equivalent or less than JLPT level N3. results showed that medium is interesting innovative support can decide how they learn improve skills. In addition, more interactive other Mobile-based media, interested However, still needs further development such adding advanced content (N2 N1), pronunciation features (audio), etc.
